For those looking for case gaskets...that actually fit...Mike (Gaskets247) from Ebay now has them on his store. I sent him a case half to work with and he came up with gaskets that are actually better than OE...which have all shrunk over time. LRB, which is the only other AM seller, based theirs on the shrunk OE gasket, lol. So, they don't work. These are quite pricey but are a perfect fit.

Good on you and him for doing this.
As far as price goes, I think it fair, he has to drive to the grocery store and be able to purchase something when he gets there like the rest of us. And gives a break the more quantity bought.
It's unfortunate as ambitious as LRB seems to be, they don't source better makers.

Hey Guys,
I picked up a 2100 XP about 10 years ago, finally got a carb rebuild kit from a husky dealer and put it in last year, but as warned, the recoil pull start doesn't work very well.
Any idea where to get one in decent shape?
Thing has wicked compression, any good tips to get it running well enough to use?
Also anybody what they are going for currently? May trade it up for something a bit newer.
Sorrry but I missed commenting on this .First off even if everything is working this old Viking is one of hardest to pull over ever made. Those Swedes are a tough bunch but they aren't that tough .High compression saw with a small starter pulley and no decomp ,such nonsense .The pulley hole can often wear elongatated so it cocks the starter pawls which binds everything up .What I did was turn a brass bushing to repair the pulley so it ran properly aligned .After that I could at least pull it over but it wasn't easy .At my age now it's going to need a decomp else I'll never again be able to start it .I've got three of those arm breakers ,the 2100 and two Partner P-100's

Somewhere over the years, I picked up the habit of giving paper gaskets a light rub of white grease, each side .
But I was looking to cut down on stuck gaskets that left a mess behind when you needed to go back in the unit.
Seemed to help ,a little, with gaskets sticking. Dosent really seem to dry out for a long time.

I use Permetex aviation form-a-gasket. Seems to help seal and the gasket does not stick when you get back in the project. Little bit goes a long way!

I’ve used a light coat of grease on several rebuilds. Never had a sealing problem

And a likely reason as to why a 2100 case gasket can be plucked off without damage.
Also, as a fact, I recall in a Husqvarna repair manual, I think was for the 372xp, there's a side note marked on the case gasket and when it's looked up it says - grease.

I can see a case gasket tending to slip out of place if there is too much grease on it. I’d rather use sealant, maybe even a thin layer that is left to dry before installation.

In places the parts have a gap between them a little dab of Permatex number 2 will be helpful . Other wise grease or oil generally speaking is the common practice .
