I was winterizing my trimmers and decided to pull the muffler and sparkplug to see how the piston and cylinder walls looked. I was surprised by the amount of carbon but maybe its normal?

FYI, the trimmer is two seasons old and I only run non-ethanol 89 gas and XP oil at 40:1.

Oil too good, strimmers run colder than chainsaws and don’t get
loaded / hot enough to burn that oil, it’s for heavy duty situations.

Echo power blend x is a good oil for strimmers even under good loads
and burns clean.

Is the strimmer running rich, do you start and stop it a lot, never really
getting it up to heat.
