Alrighty this is a build I have been wanting to do for a while. Here is the saw. Its in fairly nice shape, a few dings and scratches here and there but solid overall.

This is my plan as of right now

• Cut .035 out of the band, gonna be running a gasket but I forgot what thickness gasket my pa uses. Ill double check tomorrow. Squish is gonna be .020”
• Timing for start: EX:102 TR: 121.5 IN: 78.5*
• Pretty extensive transfer work, lowers and uppers.

I been collecting parts for one. Mostly NOS OEM. Case included. Some used OEM and planning on a Meteor P&C.

I did one with the same numbers as your going to use a couple of years ago and it wasn't high reeving, but had real good torque.

Lowers roughed in. When I go in to do the uppers, I need to go into the back wall and angle them towards the intake more because they are semi flat.

I MIGHT try out a 281/288 Tillotson carb once its all said and done. They have the same exact sized venturi, same body, heck even the same choke and throttle throats are the same size! Same bolt pattern (Walbro RWJ-4 style) too. Thoughts?

Just stick with the tillotson hs260a
It's the best carb for those.

Yeah I have. The first one I did turned out to be pretty solid. It gained a good amount from just doing that lower transfer work and gained even more when I dropped the intake a little bit (76 degrees before, 78 degrees after). Im not just hogging things out either, even though it seems like it.

Baseline cuts, All I did was drop the gasket, bring the ex back to stock height (105*), and readjust the uppers. More to come
