I have a brand new gx 390 and it was surging at high speed,i clean 3 times carburetor, make hole larger in the pilot jet and now run perfect but start only with choke even when it's hot.ideas?
Pull off the bowl then remove the main jet .
There is a tube, emulsion tube i think it's called it will fall out.
Clean out the small holes in the sides of this tube with a small micro drill bit, #77 i think.
I use the back end of the bit .
This has fixed 3 Hondas for the surging issue in the last 3 months.
Cleaning the carb without pulling the tube does not fix the surging in my limited experience.

Ditto on Briggs twin electronic carb. Did it once.....needs done again. Two years little use. Plastic is worse than brass. Tubes like this clog in Echo mini blowers twister carb.
You can go to home depot and get a mig welder tip cleaner. These are absolutely wonderful for cleaning emulsion tubes and jets. The tool has many different size wires so you are sure to have the right one.
