I bought (350.00) this from a guy and it starts and run. It has an older restoration on it, but the top paint coat was really bad, everything seems to be there other than a air filter nut ring and one handle bolt. I slapped a 36" .050 bar on it, but I'm sure it has a .404 rim sprocket on it. I'd like to change the rim sprocket to 3/8" if I could since I have the bar. I used 7/8" garbage disposal hose to replace the handle cushion, with a little mix gas inside the hose it slid on.

You'll need to find an Oregon replacement clutch drum which I don't know the number of .That model which uses a 6 spline drive and only came in 8 tooth .404 as original equipment .Trust me it's got plenty of power .That saw in my avatar picture has a 48" hard nose bar and it doesn't have any problem running that bar with full comp .404 chisel chain .
The filter might be rather difficult to find but does show up on flea bay every so often .Because of the rarity people are rather proud of them though .
The drum if I'm not mistaken is the same diameter as a reed valve McCulloch like a 125 but the clutch uses 7/8" shoes, six of them .I have both but I'm not certain if a Mac drum would be wide enough .If so a bushing would need to be fabricated to adapt it .If I have some time I'll find them and snap a picture in a day or so .

I got a picture .On the left is a McCulloch drum with a 7 spline drum ,number is on the box behind it .It's around 7/8" thick .Center is a 2100 drum, about 1" depth ,right is another Homelite but 3/4" depth .I'm certainly not an expert but have heard the 2100's could have either 3/4" or 7/8" wide clutch shoes .All the drums have the same inside diameter .

Thanks Al. I can buy a brand new Windsor .404 by .058 bar and chain delivered for 119.00, one that's over 4" inches wide, no needle dick Oregon bar. I think I go that route and save this bar for my SXL-925. The rim sprocket and the entire 7/8" clutch/shoes appear to be in good shape. That saves me a lot of hassle and keeps it original.

I now have three Super 1050 Automatics, a 1130G, a 2000 Automatic, and a Super 2100 Automatic. I'd love to score a 3100, but I can't even dream of that yet, although when I started collecting 3 years ago I didn't think I'd have 60+ Homelite saws. 20200307_125846.jpg 20200626_211117.jpg 20180227_165150.jpg H2100c.jpg

That 48" I have according to Mike Acres is a Mac branded Windsor also in .058 .I've also got a 36" .404 ,063 Stihl bar I adapted for it which is usually what I use .However it's been some time since I've used that saw or even started it .

Nice stuff.

Any of your saws could sit just nice in place of a big Stihl anything. The 3100 you speak of is for sale somewhere. Saw one last night but don't remember where.

It just depends on how you look at things .I've got two Mac 125's,the avatar saw plus an 084 Stihl .Which is better ,don't really know .I guess that depends on who is operating them because they all some snort .They are all heavy too .

The early Super 1050's used the Tillotson HL-222, later they switched to the Walbro SDC-74 fixed jet (noo hi-low needles) I don't know if the later model Super 2100 used a Walbro fixed jet or Tillotson, mine is an early one and has a Tillotson HL-273A

It must have a universal thing for a while with fixed jet carbs because many went that route .Evidently too many new saws got cooked by owners who didn't know how to tune a saw .I've got a 105 Mac that had one until I changed it to an adjustable from a 125 .That woke it up .
Then later on from my understanding the Husky 3120 had a fixed jet but some drilled them out and installed a needle valve .I've never worked on that model so it's only what I've heard .I do know those rascals will run like the wind though .
