My friend owns this nice shooting range
And always wanted one of these and bought a
Walther ppk .22 the other day
We cleaned and lubricated it.
We tried 7 different types of .22 ammo
36 and 40 grain
Winchester 1425 superspeed
CCi mini mags,federal automatch, federal bulk pack, Remington golden bullet
Wolf match,Aguila hispeed, Winchester bulk pack.
This thing wouldn't feed anything
And for about 400.00
Only came with one mag.
Constant ftf fte
His son is a gunsmith so he's going to try to fix it.
Then we put a 325 rounds of federal automatch through my
taurus tx.22
No failure's of any kind.
The walthers da trigger pull was off the
15 Pound trigger pull gauge we had
The sa pull is 6lbs
And we put a 100 through a g3c taurus

Ever shoot 3-bird sporting clays??

I kicked off 2022 with 2 rounds of 5-stand/3-bird sporting clays at one of my local gun clubs. I was talked into shooting the winter league by one of my coworkers, and I am happy he did it. I am not great at sporting clays; even less so at hitting 3 birds with a pump gun. There has been pressure from my teammates to replace my 870 with some variety of semi-auto; but for the most part I am doing perfectly average with my "inferior" equipment. I plan on trying a slightly different choke the next round and see if I can improve my average. Seems like the 30-40 yard shots are slipping through my pattern occasionally (or maybe I just suck).

Hoping to find 209 primers locally somewhere later today ... yeah right haha

Ever shoot 3-bird sporting clays??

I kicked off 2022 with 2 rounds of 5-stand/3-bird sporting clays at one of my local gun clubs. I was talked into shooting the winter league by one of my coworkers, and I am happy he did it. I am not great at sporting clays; even less so at hitting 3 birds with a pump gun. It was difficult for me to find a good leather holster I prefer them
I wasted a lot of money over the year's
On many that didn't work for me.
I found this outbags glock 23 on amazon about
10 years ago
It was like 25.00 I use it for all these pistols works great but it fits it's intended model the best
It's been excellent I just ordered 3 more

Addictive is the correct word... and expensive as well. Between the league fees (I prepaid for the whole thing up front) and ammo to shoot I am near the $500 mark at this point.

Problem with the PPK/S .22 is the slide is real heavy. Mine took almost 600 rounds till it became reliable enough to shoot and have fun with it. They like the highest velocity ammo you can feed them. The aguila super extra is what mine likes. The federal automatch is too low velocity to cycle reliably in the PPK. Even though they are rated 1200fps they are much lower.

Now my P22 will cycle almost anything no problem. That is hands down my favorite semiauto .22 handgun.

My bil has been wanting to take me to a sporting clays session. I have a thrower that throws random direction an a field to shoot so we all just get together any my place and have fun for a much lower cost. I shoot an old bolt action 20 gauge much of the time which makes a 3 bird impossible because I'm not the greatest but I'd still give it hell!

Been looking for a Ithaca 37 featherlight in 20 gauge to compliment the same I have in 12.

I don't worry about the double action trigger pull on the PPK. Put the mag in, rack it, and you got the light sa trigger pull. I doubt you will ever us the gun in a da environment.

The P22 though has a very light da trigger pull.

Walther has very good customer support. My P22 cracked a slide and broke the extractor in half. Sent in the slide, new one came back!

I know you are no stranger to gun maintenance Dave but did you try scrubbing the chamber with a slightly larger bronze brush? I have to scrub the chamber in my PPK real well every box or so of rounds because they start to do the same thing yours is doing. Also make sure the extractor is sharp and the spring pushrod is good and clean.

I know you are no stranger to gun maintenance Dave but did you try scrubbing the chamber with a slightly larger bronze brush? I have to scrub the chamber in my PPK real well every box or so of rounds because they start to do the same thing yours is doing. Also make sure the extractor is sharp and the spring pushrod is good and clean.

I’ve had a PK380 for many years…has never given me a single problem through God only knows how many rds!

I love Walthers and really wanted a pk380 but started to really like the Kimbers. Plus 9mm is so much cheaper to shoot than 380.

From all the guys I know,they say the kimbers are overpriced now a days and quality has gone down. I’ve personally never messed with one , other than ogling at them in a gun shop. Most of those guys I know run glocks or colts. I personally run a Taurus g2s and a Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 in 4” barrel, both are 9mm. Not had an issue with either with close to 2000 rounds on each. I use either as my carry weapon also

I went to look at them real close today and they had one for $549. I could not find any difference over the ones a few hundred bucks more other than cosmetic stuff. Fancier grips, different color frames and slides and the like. I said fook it and pulled the trigger. Saw a bunch of them at a large gun show yesterday and none looked worth the asking price.
