Was working on a weedeater and couldnt get it to start. It would ever so slightly try on full choke and that was it.
Pulled carb blew out. Diaphram and pump looked good. Put the compression tester on after no luck after the carb clean and a different spark plug. Read just shy og 90 psi.
Im guessing its a little low. I know with the saws less then 130 is getting low so probly same rule of thumb for a weedeater too.

From my experience it is too low. I only seen one that start this low. As a rule of thumb for me on my gauge if under 100 psi it is usually needing a PNC and with the low cost of most trimmers I would consider it a loss cause.

Now I have seen many trimmers just over 110 psi to still be good units just not powerful as they once was.

I called the small engine shop and they he said 90 psi is fine for a weedeater.
I still think its low.

Hopefully it not the same dealer tech that told my customer that Kawasaki 4 cycle engine with an oil filter and an low oil pressure light doesn't have oil pump.

I reckon not as I see you're in Canada not Tennessee USA.

Just know what it takes here for them to start. Now it can be a stuck ring too. I have been working on them since '09

I put a carb kit in that weedeater today and seems to run ok now. Was a little hard starting though.
Will try another cold start tomorrow and see.

Fired the weedeater up this am. Took about 5 pulls. Seems to run good. Just got to get a new filter for it and should be good.
