Glamour shots of MMWS 395 XP before it goes to work

Just documenting how purdy this 395 looks brand new. I will be using to log out 1.5-2 dozen mature oak trees (some >3' dbh, 4-5' at notch in the flare) from my forest this Winter/Spring. It will not look this shiny after that. This is a "work saw." Thanks @Mastermind Probably post some logging pictures in the appropriate sub once I get some saved up.

Why would someone use skip chain on a ported 395?

To clear saw dust better when cutting big wood with a long bar. Non skip gets kinda clogged up and can slow down, plus it's fewer teeth to sharpen.

Less teeth to sharpen. Anything 36" and over gets skip...

I've had some similar to a tube of chapstick, if that's considered the paste.

I'm planning to leave it 7-pin, since I have a 42" B&C for it. I'd rather drop the rakers on the 36" skip loops.

If not, no big deal. Would blue thread locker on cylinder bolts (not metric), muffler nuts and inner spike bolts. If doing a rebuild everywhere except carb screws. Oh, very nice saw you have, enjoy.

Not usually on anything but the bottom muffler bolts. The top cover and recoil....no.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to bury the 395 I ported in big wood yet, but I think it will do just fine running 8t on the 42". Even with a very aggressive 36" full skip on an 8t it screams.
