My 261 is in the queue to be ported by Randy. I am stoked. Word on the street is that be knows what he's doing. :D Can't wait.

My other saws are

Stock Stihl 241: I love it for small stuff with the picco chain. I'm tempted to have it ported too (apparently it responds really well) but it's already kind of redundant with the 261. Do I really need to slice through 5" logs faster? :D I might just keep the 241 as a quiet (ish) saw for small stuff. Or replace it with something smaller?

Jason Egan ported 461R. It's awesome, but every time I see a 462 posted I drool. I like moronic/mtronic saws and a lightweight 462 with a 20" bar seems like a very different animal from the 461R. But I barely ever bust out my 'big'" saw (the 461 is damn near new) so there's no rational reason to make any changes here. It's pure CAD idiocy. I'm resisting with all my might.

261c/462c is my master plan after much trial & error.

16"/18" for the 261c
20"/24"/28" for the 462c

The 462c is in que with MMWS.
No plans to port the 261c. It has a muff mod and already does great for its size.

The 261c with a 18" semi skip chisel is great for my clean smaller hard & softwood. I drop down to 16" & semi chisel for small Locust duties.
Bucking larger locust, oak and hickory will be strictly 462 territory.
