Not much going on in here lately just thought I'd share my latest ebay find. Pretty snazzy looking clone plus, it has fast exhaust! Whatever that means. I can't wait to get the saw so I can cut some tree wood with it. Haha

I watched a review of these on YouTube, one thing I found interesting was they cast the clutch cover with their brand/model name. They didn't do it to all the models but I found that interesting.

Looks like they put their name on the recoil side too. They also have a fancy "pro flow" air filtre. Appears to be a copy of the max flow but, the cover looks cleaner.

I my experience the max air flow covers are cheap garbage to begin with, so anything else is at least equal.

They have the pro flow filters on ebay. They look like they are better quality than the max flow. Might pick one up if they restock the black ones. I built a couple "hot rod" 660's and gave them to my dad and my buddy as a present. The one I kept is mostly unmodified. And runs decent for a $250 saw. Might build another one this winter if I get bored. People always seem to buy them.

I'm not sure but, working at a place that stocks and sells all kinds of cheap Chinese crap it seems like Chinese companies will sell the same product under multiple different brand names. The items are identical they just stamp a different name on the item. From what I have found most of these things are coming from the same place. So it is a good possibility that they are buying them from farmertec in bulk and putting some parts on them to make them look different and raising the price a little or farmertec is selling them as a different brand but only on eBay and Amazon.

I noticed neo-tech on Amazon. Talk about flooding the market

Well... I mean a new stihl chainsaw is expensive and over complicated (thanks EPA). Any old running stihl people are asking a lot of money for... $600-$1000 for a well seasoned pro saw. On Craigslist in my area there are 036, 044, 064, 066 all in that price range. I can see why the clones would sell very well. Anyone who would pay $650 for an 036 pro is out of their mind...

A sticker of a made up name is one thing, but I noticed that the casting would be changed in the cover for what they did. Just don't understand why they wouldn't have gone with the bigger clutch cover on the stihl?

Yeah the prices of some of the used saws is just fking ridiculous, I have even seen saws with a broken case that were hundreds of dollars listed on this site!
I mean oem quality speaks for itself but that doesn't equate to money for a beat saw.
I do personally believe that one factor does play a large part in clone sales for first time users. If your poking around for a Stihl 660 and gasp at the price of a clapped out saw the sellers almost seem to be insulted by it.
I believe in paying good money for good equipment but not for scrapyard picks.

Neo-tech and farmMac are the same company. The farmMac brand is the fancy version. Ran across this barbie 660 on ebay. Appears to be spray paint.
