Oh... pressure
Dan who? I would like to see some vids of a ported 1201 cutting
man... do you smell the smoke?

The saw is in the East. Might have been our Asia connection who put me onto the pics. It had a Weenie or Unifilter on it, ported, piles of big chips. Can not remember if it had a video. Saw was ported and the owner said it was a beast. Might have two of then built... that's just keeps coming up in my head. They had different air filters. If it wasn't in the East I'm way off possibly.

Asked the Greek.
Maybe it was another Dan who showed me those pics bucking big stuff. Somebody's got one. I might get one this summer. Keep spending my "New MS361 monies" :-(

@Hinerman

Might have been Robin who showed me those pics or a friend of his.
Had nice chat with someone about a year or two ago on this 1201 saw hopped up for milling and big stuff.

I've always wanted to port one. Kinda weird looking like it could have had a bigger oil tank or a muffler instead of a pipe, and a bigger clutch.

Custom chainsaw winch project takes a back seat, i timed this saw before and decided to do it again to be sure

Let's see what the 1200 holds

This saw has been fully gone through by my dealer, i had him swap the case bearings with roller nj204 on the pto and c3 6203 on flywheel.

Whoever designed this beast is a genius, muffler gasket has a deflector with tiny lip. Looks like they were trying to direct exhaust gas in a scooping manner, and improve laminar flow. I'd assume it increases scavenging efficiency in expense of rpm.
Crank needless to say is way over built compared to its competitors, i ported 880 the other day and the crank seems like almost half of this size. Massive rod/ rod bearing/bob weight, if anyone is looking for a platform to oversize bore over 150cc this is what you need.

Decomp vent hole is double the size of stihl and husky counterpart, even then it tend to rip fingers out. Must be the tight combustion chamber creating the crazy high compression.

Stock timing is 100/122/75 with 1.4mm squish, its going to get machine work and im looking to land squish at 0.8mm and final port timing after porting at 98/116/80. That way it'll retain majority of low end tq and let it push further high up, we'll see how it ends up

Oil feed channels on base for both case bearings, nice wide big piston windows. Port size and chamfers inside cylinder is impeccable, never seen anything like it. Been inside few of 1200/1201 they still amaze me and remind me how good they are. Lower transfer are wide open, something common back then before epa intervened. 880 stock lower transfer is about 60% of 1200 size
