Drive link count

Does any here know what the drive link count would be to switch from 404 to 3/8 on Stihl 14mm mount 084/088/880. Mainly looking for 30" and 36".

Yes that is correct for .404. I would like to try 3/8" out my bigger saws. Need to change out the tips and use 3/8 .063 chain.
91DL= 28" in 3/8
91DL = 30" in 404

Based on the chart 91 DL is 6.166 feet of 404 chain. To get 6.127 feet of 3/8" you would need around 100 DL.

Not sure if that's the right way to do it as I know that 105 DL in 3/8 is a 32".

If I was to buy a couple of loops of 36rs -114 DL that should be enough to make a loop or two for the 30" bar. Just will have to get some presets

I know You asked for Stihl mount, I can't help You with that.

But D009/large Husqvarna mount true 36" bar is 115DL of 3/8" on a large frame Dolmar with a 7 tooth sprocket.
I don't recall whether an 8 tooth sprocket fits, but I think it does.

Stihl 36" 3/8 is 114. If I remember right most longer D009 are usually 1 DL more than Stihl.

Been doing some reading on some other forums. Some have said that you would need to add 4-6 more drive links to go from 404 to 3/8. On large 14mm mount Stihl bars
