Dolmar 421 bar size

i had my 421 ported and it reall rips...the small chain won't hold up now..broke one and it has sheatpred a few teeth now and then...it's originally equipped with 3/8.050 ga...I put on an 18 form a dead Poland ...I love the balance and reach of the 18.. The Poland bar is junk tho..the thing is wearing fast and single rivet in the tip is getting loose...
How can I achieve an 18 lightweight bar with quality construction..

If it uses the same mount as a small Poulan, then it is also compatible with most sub-50cc Echoes. Meaning, you have lots of options. I have a Windsor Roll-Top on my Echo CS-400 and it seems pretty sturdy for a basic laminate bar.

You can get a 5100 sprocket and .325 rim drive from Ford F-150 and Oregon speedcut bar. You have to grind the inner rail down to the mount holes so it will oil properly but it is not hard. I think CoreyB has a video and explanation.

They make a direct fit that’ll work on both A041 and K095 mount saws. They call it C1 mount. I have one on my 421 and it’s fantastic.

Thanks for sharing that @SOS Ridgerider ! Once I wear through my stash of old high quality Windsor’s I’ll go that route. Mines not ported, and I thin small diameter wood and flush stumps surrounded by rocks and I am loving the lightness and cutting capacity of a 14”. I also run 12s and 16s, but something about the 14 is just right in the sweet spot of this saw. Just my 2 cents.

Now I need to get my hands on some Stihl lp chain. The Oregon yellow vxl is doing what I need in softwood though.
