Clearwater Saw Pierce, Idaho: Ported 661

Anyone used this shop? Got a busted saw with a cylinder they did.

i don’t know much about porting but thing are nice and smooth

Was told cylinder lowered, transfers smoothed and intake and exhaust opened up.

I've taken some of my saws to them to have worked on when I sawed down by headquarters in the Clearwater. Seem to be a good dealer, I wasn't aware they ported saws too, I have had Olives saw shop in Orofeno port a couple 660's in the past.

The transfer ports especially, but seeing ports from both sides helps.

Each port from the inside of the cylinder, you have the outside covered.

We used to buy saws and get parts from pierce saw shop but haven't done as much business the last couple years. The owner Kenny is a hard working guy and does good work but he doesn't work there all the time as he is still out falling here and there. I know his son was helping out but unfortunately I don't think he is quite as capable, nothing against him personally. A few of the saws that we got back weren't real impressive and had things missing. Personally if I need anything I get stuff from Olive's in Orofino. Duane is a solid dude and knows his stuff! Do you know exactly what the extent of damage on your saw is?

2 fins busted off and third one cracked

A lot of people raise the intake on 661. Is there epoxy in there?

Is the muffler modified?

Timing may be advanced as well. If the flywheel key is filed it has been advanced.

All those would indicate extensive port work without pulling the jug.
