Was wondering how everyone is doing to clean the carbon off of pistons and in the cylinders, up top mostly in the cylinder. I can sand the carbon out of the exhaust, and top of piston. Just wondering if there is a chemical that cuts it quicker. Thanks

For the combustion chamber, I use my die grinder and several different wire brush attachments.

For carbon removal the chemical way, doing the hot-tank thing with Purple Power or Boraxo has been working for me.

I'm a big fan of a brass wire brush and a drill. Go to harbor freight and get the kit with multiple different sizes and shapes and you'll be good to go.
For chemical, I go to sams and get their purple "de-greaser" thats not diluted. Pour it in a tub with the parts and let it sit a day or so and the stuff usually wipes off. Unless it's like super thick

This stuff works well but you need to let it soak for a few days if there is a thick layer of cooked on stuff like around the exhaust ports. I got mine at Walmart.
