Christmas 262XP

No pics yet, but my build will be the Husky 262XP. I was gonna do a Stihl 036, but Deets beat me to it and I believe Randy will be doing one as well.

I plan on starting this week. Will make sure to post many pics.

The plan is to use some rare parts on this guy. It will be sporting a KS non decomp jug and likely an 87 vs. 87ized 199 carb.

The KS non-decomp are reported to have bigger tunnels and to run better than the others.

I've got a pretty good recipe for them. Sorry guys, no finger/bridge ports really needed here.

Got a chance to look through my parts pile.

Not so sure on the KS non decomp jug. It's got some plating damage at the exhaust roof that's gonna interfere with the numbers I want.

I'm gonna go with a mahle decomp jug that's in good shape. Tunnels are exactly the same as the KS and the jugs in better overall shape.

Plus, we're all getting older and having the option of adding a decomp at some point isn't such a bad thing.

Got an hour in tonight.

Jug soaked for a bit. Cleaned up well.

Final transfer removal not done yet. It ruins the witness lines.

Ran out of time. Hoping to get a bit more tomorrow and hit it hard this weekend.
