This 066 was the one that ate a ring last week that you may or may not have seen a post about. A Meteor P&C showed up from HL Supply today and heres where it shakes out with no gasket.......

Squish is right at .021" everywhere I measured it.

94/122/82

It seems to me that the whole thing needs to go down about .065"-.070" to get the exhaust to the 100 range, and at that point I would be raising the intake floor with epoxy. I'm guessing that the transfers would come up less degree-wise because of the crank position and inches of stroke per degree on the crank at that point.

Does this make sense? Part of me also just wants to run it like it is, everything seems ok except the exhaust is kinda high. I can machine whatever I want but I don't have right angle stuff to get at the upper transfers if they had to come up.

Thoughts? Opinions? Sandwiches?

You actually gain an extra degree or 2 more on transfers than exhaust height when you lower a cylinder. More so on short stroke motors.

Id run it like it is if I couldn’t raise the transfers

The transfers is all I’d change. The rest is about what I shoot for on them if the compression is up 175-190

You'd be freeporting if you tried to get the exhaust to 100 based on those numbers.

Depends how much it's freeporting! Plus the uppers would definitely need raising afterwards and he has said he isn't equipped for that. That alone basically kills any plan to lower the exhaust. Just run it as is.

There is plenty of skirt left, wouldn't free port, but yeah, without being able to raise the upper transfers, cutting the base as much as I would want to seems like the uppers would end up around 130. I like torque, I wanted 100-ish exhaust and more compression. All I have now is basically a gasket delete. Which was kinda neat, just getting a jug in the mail, bolting it on and boom, squish was good lol.

I gotta get some more grinding stuff. This cylinder can always come off and get machined later. I'll port it a bit tomorrow, get it put together and run it. I just need it running for now, can't be too picky.

This is the first AM cylinder I have ground on, the plating seems to chip quite easily, not sure I'll be using a non OEM cylinder ever again.
And now this kit that I bought from HL Supply three days ago is on sale for about $30 less LMAO fuggers
