Bored in the shop, so I did this today. One side is metric, other is SAE. Fits in my box nicely and easy to grab n go. No more balancing on anything anymore. I used small pan screws to secure and the socket tabs still move freely. For my 4 to 8mm ones, I cut out part of a plastic organizer, glued it to the rail and ran white tape to ID that side as Metric.

You can get the flat panels with 4 rails attached for $18 or so I think.
They even have a wir loop handle and a magnetic back.

1/8" aluminum and a few rivets to attach the rails.
I have found the Snap-on socket clips for the rails hold up best.
Use some number and letter stamps to label them.
Stick some rubber or felt floor protectors for chair legs on the bottom for grip or some magnetic strips from a refridgerator gasket.
