How do you guys store your saws? I don’t mean long term I mean where do you put them when they are not in use? I want to updater my situation here and remove these old warped shelves. There has to be a better way than this and I’d like to use this section on my barn for now. Thinking of hanging them maybe vs a shelf setup but open to suggestions, thanks!

I built myself a nice bench with overhead storage. I also hang some saws from the rafters on hooks.

I used unistrut to hang saws from the ceiling. I had to devise hangers to suspend from the strut, but all the components are readily available.
For shelving, I used a staggered arrangement that allows up to a 24" bar to be visible without hogging too much space.

What’s up with all that clean bench space 😳

It takes me 2 days to clean off my bench…tablesaw…to use it as a, uh, tablesaw, again…

But, only 10min to be back in chainsaw mode 😃

My wife just looked at that pic and said…”staged”…

That’s great! What it the system for the shelving? Looks like a channel with some braces?
It's slotted shelf standards attached to the wall at every stud (16" on center), with 12 inch shelf brackets that hang in the slots. I cut grooves in the shelves for the brackets to set in; that stops side to side movement of the shelf.
This system is pretty flexible as far as placement of shelves is concerned. The shelves are 1"x12"x18" cedar.

Tidy workshop pics always make me suspect that the photo shoot was the guy's project for the week.

this has been a good thread, I showed my wife that my measely 6 saw collection is nothing compared to others, I also told her normal people dont collect shoes and boots. and I have never asked her how many pairs she has, and she shouldnt ask me specifics on the things I collect.

My wife has 8 sewing machines, I bought her seven of them...she doesn't complain about my collection of chainsaws 🤣

Years ago, I patiently explained my very practical 3 saw plan to my wife. The five saw plan went over okay. Now she just laughs when the brown truck rolls up.
