A lot of the color will fade unless you find a way to seal it off.
BUT when you seal it you also seal the fragrance.
Have to let it dry, edge it, plane it, poly it and then it will be my new trim boards in my house. I wanted to do the complete upstairs in my garage with it but I don't have that many logs. Better than throwing it thru the chipper.

Minwax natural stain does best imo, dads is 20 years old in his house, looks like the day we put it in

I did the same. Beaded, some round over, bought oak shoe mold, Min wax oil base clear. I stripped and cherry stained the antique int doors. Ran out of cedar and used red pine in a sleeping room. Oak cabinets, all from my place.

Now the hoarding is on for wood upstairs, black walnut is winning there. Have my eye on a black cherry.

Not all my rooms have same wood species, I do not care lol. I like it.

I finished a 4X6 closet in cedar about 45 years ago still smells good and no bugs of any kind to my knowledge
Did you seal it with anything and if not did it loose a lot of the color?

Very pretty wood, try some tung oil, I like how that looks on natural wood.
