Someone on this forum asked if I could do something for this old HDA with a broken off HS needle.

First step was to disassemble so I could flush out the flammables.

Next to the tig bench to weld a nut to it... hope it works!

A little shot of penetrating fluid and careful turning... I could probably weld a shaft to it and put it back in.

Until it doesn't... then you are left drilling weld.

Yes I have been there too, but with a reverse twist drill after the heat from the tig-a-nut that failed, the drill seems to only have to bite a little and they usually back out..everything is a gamble but I dont recall any I wished I had not tigged a nut on, may have passed on a few and took the classic drill and tap or easy out route. But I will say that many of those that were below flush I have tickled out using only tig. Steady hand and magnification does help..sometimes using .015 filler wire down in the hole.
