Having just grabbed a br500 for <10% of retail @ $80
First short run needs more rpm. Hand over tip mimics the results I think I'm after.
Guessing it's running at about 6000rpm compared to where the bg86 runs.

With the 4 mix engine how wary do I need to be when muffler modding before going even further ie light exhaust porting
Cheers

Be careful changing RPM on a blower. A blower is just an air pump and raising RPM can lead you to cavitation land where you get less and more noise than before. The impeller is most likely designed to work at the RPM it is running.

You should be using a tach to determine the rpm instead guessing.

The BR500 is spec at 5500. Now the BR550 using the same engine and fan setup is spec at 6100 rpm but it using a different carb, different coil and has the silencer tube replaced with a straight tube. The BR600 using the same engine different carb, different coil, the fan and it housing are different, runs at 7200 rpm.

So basically if wanting more power you replace the silencer, the carb, the coil, the fan and housing assembly then you will have a BR600.

Hopes this make sense but I have only worked the BR600 blowers here. Just looking at IPLs and the SM.
