Hey Guys-

I'm looking for more larger Alpina chainsaws and newer Alpinas. I'm also looking for a decent McCulloch Promac 72, which is a newer Italian made model. I have cash and also recently rebuilt Husqvarna 3120 and 385 saws to trade. Pictures coming soon of both.

Those Castor 120s are really cool and very rare. I've seen quite a few of the Alpina 120s. Not too many of the 90s. Sven Johnson sold me his very last NOS 120 full-wrap handle and gasket/seal set about ten years ago.

This 3120 is fully rebuilt- it has a new OEM piston and rings (from Jean-Simon Bertrand), new Nachi 6203 bearings, new seals and gaskets, fully adjustable carburetor from Mastermind, non-limited ignition from a 395, new OEM muffler, and new OEM air filter and air filter cover.

It's a 1998 model that I got locally as a project. It had lost the PTO side bearing but it hadn't totally failed yet. The cylinder is pristine and the old piston was fine but had some carbon marks on the skirt. The second picture shows the high-speed adjust screw.

I was the winner (or loser) of the Alpina 120 on fleabay last week. Not really knocking the seller as it was sold for parts and he did show a blurry pic of the corrosion. That saw had white death really bad. I scraped the corrosion off the bottom and ended up with several dime sized holes in the oil tank. Odd thing is, he said it wasn't running, but it runs great. Win some lose some I guess.

I really like the idea of owning that 3120 for a mill rig. Maybe in the near future if you still have it. Play money it's tight right now.
