Watch out for AM Farmertec/Huztl 660 mufflers with baffles still in. I didn’t mod this one other than a 3/8” hole drilled well below the baffle plate itself. I heard it rattling around while fueling up.
I’d say remove this part or remove the baffle completely. It shouldn’t be an issue in 1128 mufflers since they’re a different design and many AM mufflers dont have baffles.

I’ve had the baffle rattle loose on 3 394/5 am mufflers. One is still ok that I bought 2 years ago. Oem from now on for me.

I appreciate the warning, but so far all the AM 660 mufflers I have are still OK. I typically drill a 1/2" hole in the far side of the baffle.

Sounds good, Mike. I have an 064 project and will probably use another AM muffler. This time I will cut out the top plate or remove the baffle completely. I’ve used the saw a lot recently, but that part should never fail.
