A while ago I figured out the Jonsered 2260 or the Husqvarna 560 (small mount 562’s) West Coast spikes could be made to fit on the 550 MK1. The outer would bolt right up after drilling the partially there holes in the side cover and the inner just took a little slotting of one bolt hole.
I figured the MK2 wouldn’t be any different, I was wrong.
It seems Husqvarna decided to make the front of the case bump out much further and had to make a new inner spike to deal with it.
So after a little grinding and drilling new holes I was able to get the inner to work. Much more of a pain than the MK1 but better spikes are worth it. Plus they act as a kick stand and keep the saw from tipping on its side so easy. 560 inside spike on the bottom, modified to fit the 550 MK2 on top.
