Saw is Totaled, with OEM parts costing more than saw is worth - Would you use AM parts to repair?

I have an old MS 880 that was given to me, in horrible condition. I'm cleaning it up and saving the parts for a later project. What have you guys found as the best way to "restore" a yellowed plastic handle assembly?

The saw is completely OEM right now, so I'd like to not damage the handle assembly in case I decide to use it later.

I used a small buffing wheel with acrylic buffing compounds, iirc they were pink and blue
Taking your time is the key to success, and not melting the plastic.

I think there are other ways.. I’m sure others will chime in ;)

I've seen people get very good results from hair bleach you get at the pharmacy or beauty salon. It's uv reactive I think also.

I've seen that on YT as well. Once I clean it up, going to use a 2K clear over it to keep it from yellowing again.
