I was wondering what you's guys use. I did a search with no results. So maybe this will be the official thread for digital tachs.

Not looking to spend $100 on one, but do "need" one for curiosity's sake. What works and what did ya spend on it?

Thanks,
Todd

Think these get branded for saw manufacturers . PET -302R is the manufacturer and model number.
0.5 refresh ,running time output, auto on and off and you can use a clip and wire as well as point at the plug.
Got 2 from ebay second hand …simple and both say the same RPM so i assume the accuracy is fine. Photo0676.jpg

I bought this a few years ago. It's a wired tach but works great. Only downfall is it doesn't shut off.

I mounted some small cheap hr meter/tachs to saws with double sided velcro over two years ago. They work great even when the wire breaks they still work fine. Cannot replace batteries though but I here they last a long time and are well sealed against water and stuff. I still use an ear to tune as I'm use too that but having a tach and hr meter is handy. For $20 bucks on the bay they' ll make ya day!
