Topped of the bar oil in my 440 and noticed that it was odd colored. Saw ran fine with nothing noticed out of the ordinary. Filled up the mix and oil knowing it would be used again the next day. Looked the same as before. Checked mix and ran it. No extra smoking, nothing odd. Could the case gasket be failing and allowing mix into the oil to cause this? Any other ideas? I'm already resigned to the worst case scenario.

Any chance it’s water or condensation? Anytime I’ve had a bad gasket there, it sucked bar oil into the case. White smoke that smells like burnt gear oil. Can’t miss it
