Do the head gasget while your there if it hasnt been done.it will blow.
Then hope the rod doesnt put a hole in the case later.
Oh,and get ALL of the decomp pieces out or they will end up leaving the engine via the case.

I refuse to purchase anything else from them new.

These intek are junk , I feel for customers purchasing them .

All homeowner grade engines are the same quality, regardless of the brand. Some will have problems sooner, some later. The price for a homeowner grade engine is about 1/3 of a commercial grade. So, unless you pay more up front, you usually pay more in maintenance.
It's just better to fix it and forget it.

This has been an ongoing problem. Apparently the valve lifter can clip the ACR mechanism, I have heard of the lifter being trimmed a small amount on a lathe to provide extra clearance. They were supposed to have redesigned the cam but it seems the problem persists. As Barfly suggests do the head gasket at the same time and torque to the revised spec.
