@davidwyby what is the name of that ax handle place that sells the 32” handles like Piper has on that ax you sold her?
I don’t remember what I put in that one but maybe Tennessee hickory from Madsen’s.

Yeah I think the stro went on a 30” tennhick

Did you reshape the head on the left side blue handled one?

Yes. It was an FE6. Now it's chiselbit's fave after a Stro. Trimmed the poll and made the groove symmetrical. 6 to 5 lb IIRC.

@chiselbit did I leave you that chinese one that is similar shape to a Stro and how do you like it?

Thinking what I'll do next with splitters is a ~5 lb. Fill the gap between the 3.5 lb Sarek and a 6 lb Weco that I have. Do what you did with an fe6 or the same or similar to a cheaper Dayton.

5lb get the council splitting axe and give it a high centerline like the weco

Yeh, I think that's what I've been seeing called the Dayton. Looks like they're dropping that name and just calling it the 5 lb splitting axe. If Bailey's has it in stock I'll grab one on the way back from the airport Friday.

It’s the same head as the wedge banger

I have the China, and haven’t really used it yet. Reluctant to pack it into a strip in case I don’t like it. I’ll send it back with the Jack

Some vendors on YT were showing the 5 lb faller and 5 lb splitter having different polls. That must've changed to them being the same, like you're saying. Here's a new faller with the same poll as the splitter. Different length handles and paint job is currently the only differences, it appears.IMG_3817.jpeg

The red one I posted on the 32” straight ECLJ and then on the racy ECLJ is the old council banger

Yep, polls are different on those. Weren't painting them red then, either. Was kinda hoping the splitter would be more cheeky than the faller, like the FE6 is.
