Ever known of a bar shape tip that is asymmetric? Can't recall what I read recently but it was a saw from some years ago (probably the last 20 yrs) and had to do with lessening kickback and I think the top half of the tip was curved more square and the bottom half had kind of a slant to it, such that the shape of the tip was NOT a semi-circle. It was, well, asymmetric. I guess that didn't work out?

They're called banana bars, at least that's how I've heard them referred to. You're exactly right that it was a kickback reduction scheme. I bet @Philbert could tell us more.

The one I am talking about, the main axis of the bar is a straight line, like in a regular, normal bar. Only the nose is asymmetrical on what I am referring to. It seems you are describing something even more radical, which makes it more interesting!
