My son got a ‘99 Prelude. 180k H22 engine. Burns some oil, haven’t done any testing yet to determine if rings or valves. Figure we will hop it up a bit while we’re at it. I’m more of a V8 guy…maybe a mild ported head and cams? Any brand recommendations? Of course intake and exhaust. 3E345589-DA0C-4A32-9FD9-3169D81F16D9.jpeg

Replaced the radiator tonight to find the cap doesn’t fit right. Not sure which is to blame, the cap or radiator or both. Probably both. Tweaked it a little and got it on but it ain’t right. Gonna see if we can get one the same brand as the radiator.

Honda's in general don't need much help David. Make it mechanically sound and let it breathe as you say. It's still only 2.2l tho. Guys have been playing with H22s in Preludes and Accords for a long time now so the www will know some cost effective products surely.
They can be turbo'd of course, but money and time, and it's your kids car so how much power you really want comes into it.

I know, I know…but when it’s your kid…he could have had a ‘71 LeMans, but somehow got sidetracked.

I’m kidding, I just bought a new Acura. The H22 had a good history last time I followed them but that was 20 years ago now.

What motor is in that Acura? We are on our second JDM RB Odyssey with the K24 HP engine and they're awesome.

Nice ride, 90's Hondas can't be beat. If you can find back issues of Super Street, there are tons of articles on those. May as well have called the magazine Super Honda.

I learned to drive in foxbody mustang's. But had a *s-wordbox 4 door civic with a GSR motor that we hung a 60 trim garret on. Proved to me that honda builds some of the toughest motors around. Made 300whp and turned to 9500rpm regularly and still showed no signs of giving up a year later when I sold it. Stock head and long block.

I just picked up a 92 accord a few weeks back. I needed a gas saver, and I have a thing for old Hondas. The top half of the motor was in the trunk, along with a brand new loaded head. Super mint interior, an ex and a 5 speed. They are super easy to work on and parts are relatively cheap. The f22 is not the powerhouse the h and b series were but they are very reliable.

I had a BADA$$ '98 Chevy S10 (4.3L V6 BUILT to the hilt) & only ever got beat twice in that truck!

Once was a Honda Civic with built engine (not familiar with the Honda Engines).
It R-U-N-D-O-F-T & left me!
I couldn't catch it.
