Good morning forum members. I recently repowered a Simplicty 5211 lawn tractor with a Briggs 17hp single cylinder motor. I almost have this project done. However, the throttle and carb seem to be farther ahead by a little bit on this new/different motor. Could someone please post pics of their Briggs single cylinder throttle and governor assemblies and linkages hooked up properly if they have one so that I can see how to? I’m going to need a slightly longer throttle cable I think. Thanks for your time.IMG_8396.jpeg

That confirmed that my throttle linkage and spring are correct, and enabled me to test my governor which works. It also showed me how to hook up to choke linkage, but mine is a little different and I can’t get it hooked up, I’ll work on that. However, the main thing I need is to know where to hook up the cable that goes from the dash to the governor which isn’t shown in the video. Thank you.

I have the throttle cable hooked up now. Thanks.
Now though the choke linkage is different and doesn’t quite work on this motor so I’ll bend it, make a homemade one, or buy a different linkage for that.

The first image is idle position. The second is with choke closed.
