Hey folks. I'm blessed to be able to hunt deer in my back yard and we a really long bow season in the Bluegrass. I want to shoot a recurve, don't yet know if I want to use sights or not. Trying to keep it as simple and low tech as possible. Any advice on getting started? I'm planning to keep shots at 30 yards or less, and of course practice frequently. I have a nice archery target, nocking tools, and bow square from back when I shot a compound.

Thanks. Do you think an inexpensive bow like Fleetwood or Cabela's would work for me to get started with? Is there a particular technique you use for instinct shooting?

I use older stuff. Not even a clue on the new stuff.

Practice is all I can say. I draw, try and hold if needed and shoot just using my 3 fingers.

Thanks alot. I am 6'3 with a pretty long armspan. Do you think a 62" bow with a 50 pound draw would be ideal for me?
