any chevy or Detroit techs in here?

got a 95 chevy 1500 6.5 diesel non turbo. thottle is hanging up will not come back to idle you have to cut the truck off and restarted to get it to idle. we flushed all the oil diesel out and put new diesel in with a new fuel filter, we also changed the app with no lucky. any thoughts would be great. trying to help a young man that helps in the shop out

Is the accelerator pedal returning all the way? Pedal position sensor reading 0%?

I'm assuming that on restart it returns to normal idle so this is not a runaway type situation?

Heres something to look at too.




Biggest issue we saw with those was the fuel drivers taking a crap and they would stall.

If changing the driver, dont forget to pull out the resistor chip in the connector and intall in new driver.

I had a chevy do this. It was the cruise control doing it. But it was one of them older vacuum assisted things. I just unhooked the linkage. Oh and it never worked either, just started doing it out of the blue one day.
