Decided to build myself a mid sized Husky to go along with my Stihl 034. Found a 61 with a 272 top end on it so that's what I have decided to build. Last night I cleaned it up in the solvent tank and did a bunch of inspection and parts ordering. Have a Hyway pop up piston cylinder kit and more stock of BPMR7As coming from HL Supply. Have a bunch of stuff coming from eBay as well. Here's pics and a video!

That's a new crappy Chinese 272 cylinder. One carb screw is stripped and there's a crack in the intake passage.

I'm not using that cylinder. I've decided to go with a Hyway kit.

Progress this evening. Still waiting for muffler kit with hardware, bracket and gaskets, a choke knob and bucking spike. Drilled and tapped carb bolt holes in the jug to 5mm x .8. Replaced coil which was dead. Hope to have it pop possibly this weekend. Haven't touched the carb yet, should probably do that.

Is your original 61 cylinder bad? If not I might be interested, I am looking for a stock cylinder.
If you want a 48mm open port top end I have one off a jonny 625

Totally forgot to post an update, but she's running now! Seems to run very well. Bar and chain combo will be here Tuesday or so and then I can get her in the wood for break-in.
