I have a 660 I bought with two parts saws and when I pull the pullstart it fires before I complete the pull. It fires enough to pop the decomp but not enough to start it.

I'm thinking I might need a new flywheel , thats a guess though . Any better suggestions ?

If the saw was built from parts, I think there are several flywheel combos out there, you need to make sure it is right for your saw.

Also, a coil that has a bad secondary winding may do what you describe. Had an 044 that would kick, but not run, and after doing all sorts of carb rebuilds, fuel line & filter stuff, it turned out to be the coil.

660 only has one flywheel so I don't think that's your problem.
I'll say it's the carb or a massive airleak.

I tried a new carb so a vacuum test and checking the flywheel key then the coil should follow ? Sweet , I have a good cool to swap over and flywheel. Massive air leak is a worry though.
