Moly coated pistons that is. While attempting to clean up a cylinder from a burned up chainsaw that was running a Duke's Hi performance piston, it became apparent to me how easily the cleanup was compared to the level of destruction at hand. The Moly coating was coming off first and acting as a barrier for the aluminum transfer to adhere in normal fashion. In fact underneath the exhaust port there was no transfer at all other than the Moly coating and the little above the port came off quite easily, so much that I was fairly impressed with the lack of adhesion and thought I would share my findings for one more thing to consider when picking a piston to run in your saw.

I was surprised that the Moly coating was still there when the event happened @Duke Thieroff reasoned to me that it might not last long, this was not the case at all. You can see where some of the Moly moved to where the rings are seized and visualize the barrier it created to the cylinder.
