So the dealer stated that his software won't recognize the saw. I remember dealing with this on a mtronic saw at Stihl, it was a saw from overseas and USA software will not communicate with it.
Another reason I will stick with screwdriver saws. Maybe the best option for this saw is to convert over to 585xp carb?

Probably the best option at this point, and a cautionary tale for the import of a euro region autotune saw into the US. I will likely get my booger pickers on a 585 this weekend. Could probably provide carb pics if the OP thinks that would be helpful.

This is a euro saw, but I am assuming that my local dealer will have the ability to check it out once he has these saws in stock and updates his program to include them.
Would there be any way I can test this coil?

Get it warm and check the spark plug for spark. Pretty good overview here:

you can check the resistance in the coil with a multimeter but it’s more complex and ends up telling you the same thing as the spark test.
