550xp outer felling dog

Hi all, I’m looking for info on installing an outer spike on my 550xp. The size of the factory inboard one is fine by me, I just prefer to have an inboard and outboard spike. I realize the captive bar nuts “complicate” this a bit, but interested in what others have done. Thanks!

There is an option for matching inboard/outboard spikes on the 560 or JRed CS2260 (P# 576873003). I've tried to order it before and received spikes for a 562, there is some global mix up on the stocked parts. They should fit the the clutch cover fine after drilling the two holes in the cover that are already started on the inside of the cover. The inside spike needs to have the mounting holes slightly slotted.

I ended up modifying a set of stock 562 small dogs to fit. Slotted the inner but I had to cut and weld the top mounting tab on the outer.
