We don't have 556 or any other 60cc semipro Huskys in NZ anymore.

What have proven good buys elsewhere in the world in this class of 50 to 60 cc saws?

Echo CS590? Shindaiwa anything?

Dolkita DCS500 5600 6100s?

Cheers.

If it was my hard earned cash I was going to spend ..... Dolly if you didn't want to buy stihl or a Husky pro saw .

Echo may be best bang for the buck. I ran a friends 620pw that was not modded or tuned. It was impressive for 60cc's, and built like a pro saw. 562 is fun and no slouch, even before any mods it cut/started good. Key is to follow the starting instructions. Stock 362 was a little weak for the price I thought but still a good cutting saw.
I just got a dolmar that's very impressive for 50cc(20" .325 .050 8 pin). Build quality is on par w/ husky/stihl.
Buy quality and you will have the saw for a very long time. Buy a plastic clamshell you might not have it for a very long time. As well as some pricey trips to the dealer

The Husky 550 MkII is an impressive saw. Mine cuts like its bigger than 50cc. Pulls and oils a 20” .325 bar just fine. Keep a good sharp chain on it and its like a little laser.

Dolkita 6100 is nose in front for friend who wants "new". Can be had here for under $1200 NZD while an Echo 590 is ~$200 dearer.

Other friend went all wide eyed when he saw my 357s and 359 so maybe a deal can be struck there too.
