    What a surprise.

Any new tech is destined to take its lumps early on.

Sucks they won’t disclose why, but they’ll fix it and it will be back better than before. Maybe they’re just putting stiffer springs on it...lol

Stihl noticed they go off the shelves too fast so they came to the conclusion that a new price tag needs to be attached, one with an additional zero - 15k$ sounds about right, will make the stock holders happy too.

Could just be something with a particular batch of them.
I wonder are they pulling them from the field as well as the shelves?

There was a recall on the 661 when it was first released too. I heard ten different "reasons". Bottom line......who knows. Don't panic. Have a Snickers bar and get your asses back to work.

If you google 500i recall.... you get this....
So I guess it’s just a safety thing,,, on the saws,, there’s nothing easier than a check/changed the problem item, to be sure.... and no law suits to deal with..

You have seen that this is for the TS 500i? That was in April 2016.
