500i Issues?

Was talking to my local dealer last weekend. Asked him about the 500i.
He said he "had" 1, and had 10 more ordered.
Said he was doing the "unlock" procedure, and the saw would not unlock.
Tried several times, got his local rep involved, and ended up sending it back.

Has anyone run in to this?

Another reason I hate computers. Only locks my saws use is for theft prevention!

What does unlocking it do ?
How does it get locked to begin with ?

Maybe the term he used was "lock", don't remember, doesn't matter.
It has to do with the dealer's computer.

I believe he said he connects the saw to his computer and does something.

Then, (maybe with computer disconnected?) he runs the saw for a period of time at idle
Then, runs the saw at high rpm for a period of time
Then, back at idle for a period of time.

Connect back to computer and the saw unlocks and is ready for use.

He said this saw would not unlock and the computer kepr prompting him to repeat the process so the rep told him to sendf it back

I was in there today and got file handles and winter bar oil for the electric saws.
