They are the same and they share the same clutch cover. If you want bigger ones, the 1122 series Stihl dogs are direct bolt on. 1122 dogs come with the R model of the 462 and 500i.

The first ones should fit. I'm not a fan of Piltz, but they should also fit. Either of those two will take up a lot more bar space over the OEM 1122 064 dogs.

Here's a MS500i I had for a while. I put the 066/660 1122 series dogs on it. They were prefect in my opinion and give you really good leverage on bark that small dogs just seem to skate over.

The part number for these are: 1122 664 0501 and 1122 664 0506

If you want the R clutch cover for the 462/500 see pic below. The part number on that clutch cover includes the outer dog with the cover.

that's look mega mate, love it

how would u say it was for milling, as they have so much torque i guess it must outrun a 661 due to the torque?

you've probably had them a while over in America but they haven't been here in the UK long at all. Still not that many about

thanks

Not even close to a 661 torque wise.

We got them here in Greece early after the initial release. It's not that they have more torque, but they have the torque in all the right places.

I slapped it on the mill just to see how it did. The spikes are outside of my cutting area on the mill, so they aren't usable.

My milling saws have the spikes removed to allow the powerhead to be closer to the mill.

Old post but...

I make a model of felling spikes for the 500i small clutch cover now. They are titanium.

PM for more details or see the for chainsaw sale section under saw parts.
