Stands to reason, that if that spacer did indeed work to increase or even broaden the torque curve when the x torq was designed, the manufacturer would have casted in a longer exhaust tunnel in the cylinder and shortened the muffler accordingly.

034 had a spacer like that. I could see port matching the angles helping a touch. I don’t like the idea of the muffler sticking farther out. I’ve been talking with a guy that is getting creative with his 372 muffler. Who knows?

I've seen that and thought you could possibly open up a lower step in the exhaust port to create the same effect as this spacer.

That picture says it all ,lightened spikes and a misdirected relationship with a welder! If they clean that saw more than just scraping the filth off with the scrench to bolt on parts they'd be way ahead of the game.

The Tin Pony Crack Pipe? That’s where he got the idea. He’s just breaking into this stuff and he’s psyched.

Could be something there. I still don’t fully understand the stepped port, but Stihl engineers seem to like it. It’s usually close to the cylinder wall though.
