I'm curious to try a chinese 365 372 now lol

I am reaching that point of curiosity myself. Perhaps someone who has built a China 372 can chime in.
I've owned one 372 and it ran quite well. Base gasket delete and a muff mod. I was very pleased.

My Chinese 'HH365' is wearing a ported 77cc big bore jug, modded carb and muffler. Everyone that runs it is very impressed. It has done a heap of work and never let me down in the field. I replaced the Chinese wrist pin bearing (total junk), broke a clutch spring, had to mod the tank vent and replace a clogged fuel filter. It wears a 24" bar and runs an 8-pin.

For the money, it is a good, strong bucking saw.

No, any build thread on a 365/372 would be similar. The Chinese are not very good at quality control, so if you get one of these cheap saws, it is a good idea to go through it and make sure everything is put together correctly. The plastic will likely be cheap and need to be trimmed and fitted properly. Definitely use an OEM wrist pin bearing.

I modded the Zama clone carb to run .35/.35/.55, which works well on a 77cc engine. If you haven't done carb mods, Poleman has a lot of experience modding these carbs.

Where did you pick yours up at im trying to find a source in the us for an assembled saw I've got over a dozen customers saws tore down lol.

This 'HH365' Chinese saw was very common in Oz about 5 - 8 years ago. They sold for around A$230 as I remember. They were definitely Chinese saws (cheap), but not too badly built - you just had to spend some time fixing them up. A real Husky 365 was selling for A$1,600, so fixing up a Chinese POS made good sense. I figured I could blow up a few of them and still be ahead of the game. However, the way this saw is going it may outlast me.

A strong 77cc saw would be well over A$2,000 in Oz, so to put one together with a good bar (Total) and chain for less than A$500 made a good project saw.

Wow thats high that's why todd told us he's going to bali to buy some stihl 381s I'm working on getting two assembled 365s for 298.00 us shipped here i'm putting oem 372 topends on them hate the chinese wrist pin bearings I've bought two oem full wraps from bailey's to thanks for the information.

He wasn't happy with the carb performance, so I sent him a Chinese Zama twin jet carb that I drilled to .30/.35/.55. He put it on and was REAL happy with the performance. I tried to get him to use a ported 77cc jug, but he didn't think he needed it.

If your saws have the Zama twin jet carb, you might get Poleman to mod one for you. Or, purchase a set of micro drills and do it yourself. Your mates with a lousy stock Husky 372 will hate you for it...

Thanks i've got a whole stack of husky oem carbs from years of working on loggers saws but I've just been switching springs out in the Chinese carbs and getting good running saws.

The intake bevel is so sharp i don't know how it didn't catch a ring I'm going to relieve all the port edges.

Dave..do the cylinders look plated to you ?

I tried to get a pic of the heat discolor between the aluminum and bore if you can see and i have seen nikasil look like this too.

It's actually a nice cylinder just that one intake port being extremely sharp.

Did some grinding only widening a little might shave .20 off the key later matched exhaust to gasket and muffler relieved all the port edges.

i wish i could find out if the 72cc is on the same chassis i would go that route lol
Have to see if the bottom end holds it's been fine so far.

Well, I finally have the chance to find out for myself how good or bad these clones are, I replied to a C-list add on a Poulan Pro 330, also shown with it was a Bluemax saw, ended up bringing both home for a heck of a price, then to find out both were actually NOS!, the 330 was missing the chain, and the Bluemax was missing both B&C, both fired right up and oiled, so all's good there, threw on a 20"B&C from one of my other saws on the Bluemax and gave it a whirl, at least for now I'm impressed, this one is shown as being 45cc, if it is, I'm even more impressed, may take it out back tomorrow and see how it cuts, might make a believer out of me on these clones......
