How do you replace the oil pick up tube in the tank? The brass filter end in the tank is too big for the hole but there's not enough length on the tube to pull it out and stick it on like a gas filter. What am i missing? I have the oil pump assembly off.

I believe the brass screen fits through the hole. Never seen one that didn’t, at least

Why are you replacing it? Is it damaged? They usually last the life of the saw. If they are clogged a shot of brake clean clears them up.

I thought maybe it was the reason for it leaking slowly when sitting. I ended up not replacing it cause it looked fine when i removed it. I took it out and cleaned it and everything around it up and reinstalled it. Haven't ran it cause i'm waiting on a carb part but it has been full of oil for two days and hasnt leaked a dropped so maybe it's fixed.

I had one that would not stop leaking. I took it apart cleaned everything and still leaked. I replaced both lines and no more leaking

pull the brass screen off then pull the line out the other side. put the new one in and reach in with something to pull the tub up far enough to put the screen back in. you have to stretch it a little
