Cool crosspostquoting…

That’s what I figured…20” in smallish wood the 357 (my 2159) will hang with the Dolmar. (I never tried making the chain more aggressive on the Dolmar to go with its torque)

In bigger wood and 24” bar, the 6100 feels like 70cc…I dare say it might be faster than my stock 2166 24”.

My ported 6100 pretty handily lays a smackdown on 357 and 359's. It is an absolute pig handling wise but it makes good power, very grunty. I really should sell it as I have no use for it and it isn't my favorite, just a sentimental saw for me.

The 6100 has the edge power-wise in any form, but in use feels like you're running an under powered 372. I have not ran a ported 6100, but from what I've seen it probably still has an edge. It all depends on what your particular needs are. Personally, I'd just grab a 372.20190126_155855.jpg

The ported 361/562 beat the ported 6100 I ran and they were lighter/less bulky. It probably depends more on how good of a job the porter did modding the saw. That said I’m not a fan of 60cc saws for what I do with a saw. I prefer a 50 and 70cc combo. 60cc are good one plan firewood saws though.

Who built each? If you'll tell

The real answer here is @dall 's 036, that thing was at a gtg I went to a couple years ago, in a good clean 8x8 he ran 1.53 running a 20, I ran a 1.72 running a 16 and I was running a super nice square chain.

Mofo 361 with 044 carb (I believe it had about 7ish hp when dynoed), mofo 562xp and the 6100 was ported by jms (it was went through/checked over by another builder). I owned the 562, the 361/6100 were other peoples saws. All good runners. Just comes down to your preference and how well the porter can do the saw.

I dug around a little. Good grief, the dyno makes it seem like the ported 6100 is running with a stock 395.

Maybe @Red97 can help, not that it’s super important. I was mostly curious how much tq I lost with the 357 vs. 359 and generate some discussion :)

My 6100 is a @Mastermind. I have not run one stock. I’m sure I would not like it due to the weight like @huskyboy. It’s pretty much as heavy as my 2166.

You MI guys have any input on what you’d like to see me bring to the GTG? @cuinrearview you should probably try a ported 6100. My 2166 and 395 will hopefully already be there and ported. I’m thinking about bringing the 357/2159 by @Benwa up. I should have posted this part in the gtg thread…

Based on the saws and bars and chains I have I think my 2050s will be 16/18”, 357 20”, 6100 24”, 2166 28”, 395 36”x 3120 42”. With some swapping around on the bigger saws of course.
