While I’m waiting for my rebuild kit to come in... hopefully Monday... I’m wondering if I should modify the stock muffler. It an OE, but I’m putting In the 44.3 cyl. I don’t have welding stuff, and don’t want to get carried away with my drill and dremel tool. Any advice is appreciated! This will be a user for the upcoming wood season.

Pull the screen, pry open the deflector. Open the hole underneath as much as you can. Just make sure you keep it under the deflector. Tap/bend/pry the deflector back down. You may want to open the sides of the opening up a little if what you have is as small as that pic.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, it’s exactly like in the picture.
