288xp vs 288xp lite

What is the differences between the 288xp and 288xp lite? Pros and cons with the differences would be good to know too....

I've seen saws set up all different ways and I don't think there's a whole lot of difference. Some guys even remove the two front AV springs and just run the large spring on the front of the case. I prefer the feel of the low-top, and of course a saw that size needs a wrap handle.

Big spring makes it more rigid with long bars.

All mine I build, I set up with the large AV spring, and keep all the rubber av bushings, low tops on most, they just feel better to me this way, 288 lite weighs 15.9 lbs and with the spring a regular low top weighs 16.3 lbs., the spring also keeps the front of the case from getting marked up. The more AV the better to me.

I saw that if I weren't saving to build a 408 stroker for my mustang I would have had to jump on it. love the 390xp you built somebody will be getting an awesome 288 with that saw.

Never had an 066, but they are from the same Era so I would expect about the same.

If all rubber it's about the same. With some Springs the 288 is a lot better.
